The hottest retailers and restaurateurs continue to see the importance of establishing a presence in the Miami Design District. En Avance, the high-end designer boutique for men, women and children, opened up a 2,400 square foot space located at 161 NE 40th Street, Suite 101 in June. Jonathan Eismann also brought the renowned Pacific Time restaurant to the neighborhood in May. The restaurant is located at 35 NW 40th Street and serves lunch Monday through Friday and dinner Monday through Saturday. In it's fourth edition, Design Miami/ Basel is moving to Hall 5, a new, larger location at the heart of the Basel exhibition complex. Just adjacent to Halls 1 and 2, where Art Basel is held, Hall 5 offers not only more floor space for the expanding fair, but also a more integrated experience for the tens of thousands of visitors who come to the city for both Design Miami/Basel and Art Basel. Design Miami/ Basel will also showcase the commissioned works from the esteemed Designers of the Future Award winners, which will be announced in March. The Design Talks/Chat Shows will be presented for a live audience at Design Miami/ Basel from June 9–11, 5:30–6:30pm. Major personalities from the worlds of Architecture and Design will be interviewed on a variety of relevant topics. Design Miami/ Basel will take place June 9–13, 2009.
